A Church for Older People

We have a strong tradition of activity and success in this area. Not only are we a Church with a strong commitment to pastoral care, but we also have regular activities that engage and involve our older members and adherents, some who are the very bedrock of our congregation and history.

Our main group is Friendship 2000 (named after the year it was formed), attracting up to 50 retired people to a social afternoon with a spiritual base. Here we perhaps see the power and importance of relationship and friendship at its most evident. Some members have subsequently found renewed faith and begun to attend on a Sunday.

Our older members are a strength with our Church, many still making significant leadership contributions. We hope this will remain the case and that everyone will continue to feel valued and engaged as we further pursue, with everyone on board, our willingness to modernizing our worship and

Church life as a whole. We are therefore looking for a Minister with the interpersonal skills to build their own rich and meaningful relationships with our older members, add ideas to how we might extend our provision in this area and to be a significant role within our pastoral team.
